Malcolm Public Schools Special Bond Election
To Be Conducted Through The Mail
Lincoln ó The Lancaster County Election Commissioner will conduct a Special Mail-in School Bond Election for the Malcolm Public School District on Tuesday, September 14th. This will be the first time that the Lancaster County Election Commissionerís office has conducted a special election entirely by mail.
Ballots for the special mail-in election will be mailed to all voters of the Malcolm School District on Thursday, August 26th. Ballots may either be returned through the mail or by hand delivering the ballots to the Lancaster County Election Commissionerís Office, 601 North 46th Street, Lincoln. All ballots must be returned to the Election Commissionerís Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on election day, Tuesday, September 14th.
Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively decided to conduct the election through the mail with the approval of Nebraska Secretary of State John Gale. Although the School District includes voters from both Lancaster and Seward Counties, the Lancaster County Election Commissionerís office is conducting the election.
Citizens of the Malcolm School District who are not currently registered to vote have until Friday, August 27th to register to vote through the mail or until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd to register to vote in person. Lancaster County residents will register to vote at the Lancaster County Election Commissionerís office, 601 North 46th Street in Lincoln. Seward County residents will register to vote at the Seward County Clerkís office which is located in the Seward County Courthouse, 529 Seward Street in Seward. Voters must register to vote at the election office for the county in which they reside.
