QUICK CASH program is very successful and there is an
Alternative Funding Summit for Support Workers - November 10th!
The morning of November l0, 2011, State Senators have been invited by Senator Amanda McGill to receive information on LB 553, requiring transparency and accountability with the Payday Lending industry. LB 553 is currently an active bill in the Banking, Commerce and Insurance Committee. In addition, Senators will be told about the new Quick Cash Program now available through most credit unions in Lincoln, NE and other places across the State. To date, only 3 weeks after announcing the program, 51 small Quick Cash loans have been given out!
In the afternoon, case managers and support workers from across the city are encouraged to come together to learn about the Quick Cash Program as well as outstanding financial education resources they can share with their clients. Hosted at the Center for People in Need, 3901 N. 27th St., from 1:00-3:00 PM. This summit is FREE of charge and should prove to be very valuable to those in attendance.
