Election Commissioner Offers Final Reminders for Primary Election

Lincoln -- Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively is offering some final reminders to voters for the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 13, 2014.

Voting Hours. The polling locations will be open from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Where to vote. Voters must vote at the location for their current address. If voters are unsure where to vote they may log on to Voter Check to locate their polling location or they may call the election office at (402) 441-7311.

Polling locations for five precincts have changed for the primary election. The permanent changes are as follows:

  • Precinct 1 E-6
    New Polling Location: NCCE Labs 4740 Discovery Drive, Lincoln
    Old Polling Location: North American Martyrs Church
  • Precinct 5 C-1
    New Polling Location: Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center 1001 South Street, Lincoln
    Old Polling Location: Saratoga Elementary School
  • Precinct 5 C-3
    New Polling Location: Lancaster Manor Rehabilitation Center 1001 South Street, Lincoln
    Old Polling Location: Everett Elementary School
  • Precinct 10 E-10
    New Polling Location: West Gate Bank (Lower Level) 6003 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln
    Old Polling Location: Old Cheney Alliance Church

The temporary change for this primary election only is as follows:

  • Precinct 9 G-9
    Temporary Polling Location: West Gate Bank (Lower Level) 6003 Old Cheney Road, Lincoln
    Old Polling Location: Old Cheney Alliance Church

Change of address. If registered voters have moved within Lancaster County and did not update their voter registration, they should go to the polling location for their new address and vote a provisional ballot.

Campaign activity. Campaign activity is prohibited within 200 feet of the polling location building. This includes campaign buttons, petition signature gathering, campaign t-shirts, and campaign signs.

Early/Absentee Ballots. Early/Absentee ballots must be received in the Election Office no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day. Early/Absentee ballots may not be returned to a voter's polling location

Election Results. Unofficial election results for Lancaster County will be posted starting at 8:00 p.m. on the Lancaster County Election Commissioner's website
