Deb is in her third 4 year term as a Lancaster County Commissioner. She represents District 3 which is the majority of southern Lincoln and Lancaster County. She previously has served as Board Chairperson 3 different times. Growing up in Omaha, she is a graduate of the UNL College of Business, and has lived in Lincoln for over 30 years.
Prior to her election, she worked as an auditor for the former FirsTier Bank, served as an executive assistant to Governor Kay Orr, did private fundraising consulting, and was a stay at home mom and community volunteer. She has served in leadership positions with Westminster Presbyterian Church, Lincoln Southwest Boosters, Lincoln Community Playhouse, Maxey Elementary PTO, Homestead Girl Scouts, and the Junior League of Lincoln.
Deb and her husband Mark, a Lincoln attorney, are proud parents of 2 daughters. Allison, a graduate of Lincoln East and Texas Christian University, lives in Omaha and works in corporate communications and public relations. Melissa, a 2010 graduate of Lincoln Southwest and the University of Missouri, lives in Kansas City and works for Cerner Corporation. Deb's hobbies include gardening, running, traveling, reading, attending music and theater events, and walking the family Sheltie dog Amber.
She is currently serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Lincoln Community Foundation, the Nebraska Association of County Officials, and the Friends of Ak-Sar-Ben.
