  • Filing Deadlines For Village Boards and ESU Nears — 7/9

    Lincoln - Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively is reminding potential candidates that the incumbent filing deadline for offices not on the May primary ballot is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. The deadline for non-incumbents is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2014. A person is considered an incumbent if he/she is a current officeholder of any elected office and would like to file for the same office or a different office.

  • Sanitary Improvement Districts Filing Deadline Nears — 7/8

    Lincoln - Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively is reminding residents that the filing deadline for candidates for the Board of Trustees of Lancaster County's four Sanitary Improvement Districts (SIDs) is Monday, July 21, 2014 at 4:30 p.m.

  • Commissioner's Award of Excellence — 7/8

    Maria Bachman, Brian Hansen and David Marreel, the Lancaster County Corrections Transition Team, were presented with the Commissioners Award of Excellence Award for June, 2014 at the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners meeting today. The team was nominated for this award by Brad Johnson of the Lancaster County Corrections Department in the category of Productivity.

    Lancaster County Clerk Dan Nolte is reminding property owners that the deadline to file a property valuation protest is Monday, June 30th.

    Lancaster County Clerk Dan Nolte is reminding citizens that they have until Monday, June 30th to protest the valuation of their property. Properties that had a change in value were notified in writing by the assessor the first week in June.

  • False "Court Case" Email Scam — 5/29

    The Nebraska Judicial Branch wants to warn the public about another computer virus that is being delivered via email which falsely claims to be about a court case. The Judicial Branch has again learned that emails are being sent regarding a supposed upcoming court case; however, the email is a scam.

  • County Offices Closed — 5/22

    Lancaster County offices will be closed Monday, May 26, 2014 in observance of Memorial Day.

    Lincoln - Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively announced today that the Lancaster County Election Commissioner's Office will be open extra hours for early/absentee voting for the May 13th Primary Election.

  • Voter Registration Deadline is Fri., May 2nd — 4/30

    Lincoln - Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively today reminded voters that the last day to register to vote for the May 13th Primary Election is Friday, May 2nd. However, voters must register to vote in person. The date to have a mail-in voter registration application form postmarked was Friday, April 25th.

  • Polling Place Changes — 4/28

    Lincoln -- Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively announced today that there will be changes to the polling locations for five precincts for the upcoming State Primary Election. Four of the changes will be permanent changes while one will be temporary. New polling place cards will be mailed to all voters in those precincts on Monday, April 28th.

  • Voter Registration Sites — 4/21

    LINCOLN -- The Lancaster County Election Commissioner will conduct voter registration at three sites from April 22nd to April 25th. Any Nebraska resident who will be 18 on or before November 4, 2014, has moved, changed his or her name, or would like to change their political party affiliation, may register to vote at the following times and locations:

  • Online Stop Registration — 4/18

    Lincoln, NE - Lancaster County's Department of Community Corrections announced today that it will offer online STOP Registration beginning April 21, 2014 for minor traffic citations issued in Lancaster County. Agency officials believe the online registration option will significantly reduce walk in registrations by providing a convenient alternative.

  • Commissioner's Award of Excellence — 4/15

    Renee Runge received the Commissioners Award of Excellence Award for March, 2014 at the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners meeting today. She was nominated for this award in the category of Productivity.

    LINCOLN -- The Lancaster County Election Commissioner will conduct voter registration at several sites from April 15th to April 19th.   • Election Commissioner Reminds Voters of Deadline — 2/7

    Lincoln -- Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively reminded Lincoln Public Schools voters who have not returned their mail-in ballots for the February 11th Special Election that the ballots must be received in the Election Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, February 11th.

    Lincoln -- Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively announced today that the Lancaster County Election Commissioner's Office will be open additional hours to assist voters with issues regarding their mail-in ballots for the February 11, 2014 Lincoln Public Schools Special Bond Election.

    County Treasurer Andy Stebbing stated the Treasurer’s Office has utilized the same banking services vendor for more than 13 years and it was time to bid out banking services. After a detailed evaluation process comprising of written questions and oral interviews, U.S. Bank has been selected by the panel of experts as the best bank to move forward with.

    Lincoln - Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively announced today that the Lancaster County Election Commissioner's Office will be open additional hours for voter registration and to assist voters with issues regarding their mail-in ballots for the February 11, 2014 Lincoln Public Schools Special Bond Election.

  • LPS Special Mail-in Bond Election — 1/24

    The date of the Election is February 11, 2014. Per Nebraska State Law this election is being conducted through the mail and no polling locations will be used. All ballots must be in the possession of the Lancaster County Election Commissioner no later than 5:00 p.m., February 11, 2014.

  • Property Value Informal Hearings — 1/13

    Property owners have until February 3, 2014 to call the County Assessor's Office to schedule an informal hearing. Please call 402-441-7463 to set an appointment. We will schedule appointment times through February 28th.

    During the informal hearing, we will explain how we established the property value and receive any information from the property owner that would indicate a different value result. We will also set up inspections of the property to verify changes to the property record based on the information from the property owner.

  • Make sure your Voter Registration is current — 1/9

    Lincoln - In preparation for the February 11, 2014, Lincoln Public Schools Special Election, Lancaster County Election Commissioner David Shively is reminding voters to make sure that their voter registration is current. The Lincoln Public Schools Election will be conducted through the mail. No polling locations will be used for this election. Ballots will be mailed to the voter's address on file with the election office.
