Deputy Shaking Hands with CitizenThe Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office provides internship opportunities for college course credit during various periods of the academic year. The LSO Internship Program is an extension of the Professional Standards Division and is divided into two tracks: a criminal justice focus and a general government service option. If selected, criminal justice interns will be assigned specific tasks within the operational divisions of LSO. In addition to task assignments, interns will have the opportunity to conduct ride-a-longs with the Patrol Division, Criminal Division to include Narcotics, Metro Area Fugitive Task Force, and our Interdiction Unit. There is also a possibility for interns to interact with our Tactical Response Unit, Canine Program, and Crash Reconstruction Team. General government service internship opportunities are available on a limited basis for students who are seeking experience in civilian support functions within the Office.
