The Mental Health Division of the Lancaster County Attorney's Office is responsible for pursuing civil commitments of individuals who are mentally ill and dangerous, including dangerous sex offenders. The Mental Health Division files mental health petitions, presents evidence at mental health board hearings, and reviews treatment progress for individuals already receiving mental health board-ordered treatment.
