The Separate Juvenile Court of Lancaster County is a court of record and handles matters involving neglected, dependent, and delinquent children. The Court also has jurisdiction in domestic relations cases where the care, support, or custody of minor children is an issue. The Separate Juvenile Court has the same jurisdiction and employs the same procedures as the county courts acting as juvenile courts.

With four judges, the Separate Juvenile Court of Lancaster County serves a population of over 280,000 and includes the city of Lincoln, as well as surrounding communities in Lancaster County, Nebraska.
